This was a place that no one really believed its existence, and how he came to be here, he could never really understand, or remember. It was a long time ago, longer than he had hair to count. Speaking of which, had turn white moons ago. As to why did he decided to stay and become Guardian of this place, he could not remember either. But he was sure that he had a good reason then. Or at least he would like to believe he had.
But today he was going to have visitors. Visitors from different worlds, for here were a place that exist between worlds, a place where no one intend to visit or intend to leave. If they had a purpose here, they would be brought here, whether it was through a dream or falling into a lake or cave or a portal of some sort, or just simplify wandering in the forest and found that they ended up in another one instead. If not, no matter how much they tried, no one could arrive without a reason.
The old man sat on top of a rock and admired his work. Seven strange but beautiful, not to mention unearthly eggs were lay in front of him in the clearing. It had taken him a while to find this place. He did not live in a normal forest after all. But here they were, ready to be visit.
The first egg was a golden egg as big as a basketball. Its shell sparkled under the warm sunlight and gave a fairly enchanting sight. If you look closer, twirling pattern drawn in pale gold colour were all over it.
The second egg was a solid and warm shade of Silver. It emitted a sense of peacefulness to the people close to it.
The third egg was an egg that was half purple and half yellow, divided straight down in the middle. Sometime, it would shake on its own and its shell was rough to touch.
The fourth egg was a very light shade of blue and would give off a few wind chime sound once in a while. Some people claimed that if you stare at it long enough, patterns could start appearing on it, as if a story were being unfolded.
The fifth egg was a little bit more than the size of a baseball in a dark shade of green. It was probably one of the most unnoticeable one out the bunch of eggs. But who could determine what was inside?
The sixth egg was the largest of the group and was very lively. Staring at it could almost made people believe that they were looking at a open fire. Pattern of the fire dance on the shell of this egg, and even though it made its surrounding warmer, its shell was cool to touch
The seventh egg was just like a crystal ball, except that no one could see what was inside. The light sparkled on its surface and gave it its own beauty.
The old man pondered while waiting for those that would come to arrive. He could not seem to be able to remember what those eggs were for, but that did not bother him at all. There were much that he could not remember anymore. So the old man, with his white hair and tattered clothing, sat on his rock and waited. His staff leant of the tree behind him and his lunch in a basket beside his feet.
“Come now, Chosen ones.”
