Name: Robin Elliot Hollingbery
Age: 24
Height: 5'6
Weight: 144 pounds
Gender: Male
Race: Sorceror (Wizard)
Appearance: Robin is a bit short for his age. He's all leg, and when sitting, he's probably the lowest head in the bunch. In order to make himself seem taller, he always sits and stands erect. He's quite skinny and has pretty much zero muscle, as he doesn't work out at all. Not to mention doesn't get out much – his skin is as pale as a sheet.
Robin is the type of person that one might find cute. Not mature cute, but simply… baby cute. His cheeks are full and his lips are small and delicate. His hair is long enough that he usually wears it in a ponytail. It's bleached white, and after an unfortunate incident involving hair dye (he wanted to dye it read, but he couldn't even do that right), the ends of his hair ended up becoming hot pink. He has blue eyes.
Personality: Robin hates people. He hates talking, he hates being touched, and he hates crowds. He's afraid of being looked at in general – he's afraid of what people are going to think of him. Because of this, if someone were to try to talk to him excessively, he'd either freeze up or stutter out an incoherent response unless the situation desperately called for a reply. He's very shy (he's bordering on an anti-social disorder) and very secretive… he's too afraid to share anything with anyone.
If someone had the patience to sit down and make the guy open up, they'd find that there's really not much of a difference. He won't speak unless spoken to, and doesn't have a very good sense of humor (jokes will often fly right over his head). He's quite loyal, though, and a good listener… he'll attempt to give advice, even though it won't be very helpful. He will, however, go out of his way to make friends smile if they're feeling down, but it often doesn't work.
He likes to read (one of the few ways to get him to open up is to talk to him about books), so his house is full of books upon books upon hundreds of books. He's a classic bookworm.
Background: Robin didn't have the most loving of guardians, which is probably why he grew up to be so insecure. He didn't know them very well – when he was ten, they moved far away (to China, they said, but that was probably a lie) and left him with a close family friend with a rather annoying little demon of a child that he was forced to grow up with. Said horrible child was also a sorceror, only he was a mage. The "parents" he was stuck with obviously favored their own child. Robin was forced to learn spells in secret.
When he was eighteen, Robin was out of there in a flash. He moved from England to America with a pocket full of just a little cash. He still currently resides in America. He is particularly gifted in healing spells and enchantments, and takes jobs healing the sick. Too bad he doesn't get his name out there – he's too much of a hermit to actually advertize.
Roleplay Sample:
"Please, please… my baby… please…" The woman standing in front of him was speaking in a feverish foreign tongue – Spanish, he guessed, due to her honey skin and brown eyes. Only a few words managed to slip out that he could understand. She held a pile of rags in her dirty hands, clutching them close to her breast. He could make out the limp arm of a human child amongst the tattered clothes.
Robin stared at her blankly, panning down to the baby. "I-I… I can't… I don't understand," he whispered, voice as soft as cotton.
The woman's long sentences became mangled. Tears rolled down her face, leaving tracks in the grime that coated them. She pushed past him and into his apartment, heading towards the couch. She paid no heed to his quiet objections.
"Please… please don't… could you leave, please, umm…" Robin followed after her, unable to force her out or yell at her. She seemed so desperate for something…
But, as she rolled back the cloth that the baby was cocooned in, he understood why. Its face was blackened with charcoal… its entire body frail and weak. It struggled helplessly, flailing about like a tortoise stuck on its shell. A tiny cry sounded from its throat.
The woman began begging him again, clasping her hands together and kneeling down. Her tears rolled off her chin and splashed onto the carpet.
Understanding and nervousness constricted Robin's chest. "You want me to heal him," he said, tilting his head at the child. Its limbs were so small and its face was so wrinkled and black… he didn't know if he could fix it.
Sobs continued to erupt from the woman's throat. She couldn't understand him, naturally. Robin glanced over her, pity strangling his heart. He didn't know if he could do anything for her. This baby… it was so near death, so young, so broken…
He turned sharply, startling the woman. He walked with a light step over to the front door, where an oak staff with a bejeweled tip lounged. He swiped it from its resting place, along with a thick book that propped the stick up.
Robin didn't know if he could do anything, but he'd be damned if he didn't try.
Other (Abilities, etc): Robin is a healer – he cannot fight or cast offensive spells very well at all. He can cast shielding (forcefields, basically) and masking spells as well, so he can easily make getaways. He can't heal himself, which gets very annoying.
Robin's staff, Aphrodite, is crafted entirely of oak with swirling runes running all down the sides. It's very skinny (fitting for its master) and about three and a half feet long. The end where he usually holds it ends with a large sphere of pink topaz, held in place by swirls and buckles of silver. In order to cast a spell, Robin has to flip Aphrodite over and aim with the topaz tip.
He carries around a rather large spellbook with him all the time, in case he forgets something. It's really quite a burden – he usually stores it in a backpack, where he also keeps various magical utensils such as crystals and candles.
Breaking Point: He's not very social, so he's very close to the friends he does have… if anybody he knew closely were to die or betray him, he'd shatter.
