Meer (without child)
"Atticus"
Name: Atticus Oliver Rae, originally Meer Strom
Age: 100 years
Height: 5'8
Weight: 135 lbs.
Gender: Female
Race: Water Elementalist
Appearance:
Though a natural whipsy blue, Atticus' hair has been died red since first day she emerged from the ocean. From Candy Apple red to a much more serious deep and dark Copper, the short pixie cut that barely reaches her jawline has always been a trademark to her appearance. Atticus has two basic styles for her hair; curly and wavy. Her lovely locks can occasionally be found decorated with an adorable headband, a subtle hair clip, or a stunning bow tie. The name Oliver originated from the beautiful colour of her eyes. The deep greens, highlighting yellows, and contrasting grays of her eyes combine to create a gorgeous reflection of the world they consume so well. The black frames around her iris' almost seem to dance with the conflicting colours of her eyes as they swirl and bland into their beauty. Your soul cannot help but be captured within the toiling depths of her stunning eyes.
Personality:
Like the soft pitter-patter of rain and the slow ebb and flow of the ocean, Meer (or "Atticus") is almost always calm and serene, never over-reacting to . Like the depths of the Carribean, she thinks with a clarity that allows her to look at all possibilities before her reacts, though sometimes she tends to react too quickly to actually think everything through. Meer can be as stubborn as the Dead Sea is dense. Once her mind is made up, she is almost impossible to persuade differently. In similarity to the endless caverns that run the bottom of many oceans in an intricate maze of dark, Meer's heart could be as cruel and destructive as it could be nice and caring. Such as the raging rivers and terrifying seas storms, once you cause Meer to become angry (and yes, it is difficult to do) you can hardly stop her as she annihilates whatever gets in her path.
Background:
Ever since she was created she knew nothing of the outside world beyond the Earth's oceans. Meer would frolick around amongst the waves and the sea creature. Sharks, fish, and turtles alike have participated in games of tag and tricks. Meer never thought she was a peculiar creature, though she never came across anyone of her own race that could tell her of the world and its mysteries. This isn't to say she never sufaced from underneath the toiling waves, just that she never seemed to surface around anything more than an abandoned island. That was, she hadn't until she was asked by a dolphin to save his friend from an oil spill. Unaware of what an "oil spill" was, Meer swam happily alongside the dolphin in assumption that she was about to fight a new type of sea creature. As the duo moved closer and closer to the oil spill, Meer could feel the disruption and chaos it caused among her home and her friends. Deep inside an unfamiliar feeling stirred. In all her years, there was never a time where this feeling had a need to awaken. She could feel the blood rushing through her veins. Her heart beat faster and faster, and louder and louder until those once simple simple heart beats became the only noise she could hear, drumming against her ears until she couldn't believe that she was the only one who could hear it. Her breathing quickened and her reality began to warp as less and less oxygen reached her brain. As her mind began to sort through its multiple thoughts of profanities and obscene comments, her body began vibrating. She tried to hold back the urge to scream out at the world all of her frustrations. How could they do this to her home, to her friends, to the only family she knew !? Meer dashed through the water, leaving an angry current in her wake. Through the wall of what she recalled the dolphin calling "oil," Meer gathered which friends she could find and dragged them away from the destruction. For hours she repeated the angry process of dashing in and out of the oil spill, pulling out her helpless friends, and removing the oil from their skins and hides using a power she didn't know she possessed. Over the next weeks she marvelled as she watched the destructive beasts clean their mess and the creatures she was unable to see or rescue from the oil. This sparked an interest within her. She wanted to see what other strange creatures she could discover and learn about. Thus, she began swimming to the warmest shore she could remember visiting previously and with one final and peaceful goodbye to the ocean, Meer emerged from the water and stole the identity of the first woman she saw.
Roleplay Sample:
The clear, warm water caressed her face gently, ebbing and flowing from its center to play on her porcelain skin. From far away she would appear to be a corpse, floating in the shallow water of the beach, her fingers able to comb through the wet sand that rested beneath her, should she feel to reach for it. She lay so perfectly still; To hear the breathing of the water and its inhabitants, to hear the movement of the waves, and to hear the pulsating of the Earth as it shivers under the blanket of liquid that composes most of its surface. Her breaths were silent, if present at all. For one hundred years she had existed on this world, keeping her peace with the humans and other species. But now was time to change. She wanted to merge with the world, define her abilities, and make a name for herself.
Other (Abilities, etc):
talking to aquatic creatures.
Breaking Point:
Though Meer hates many things such as incorrect grammar, water polution, and the general abuse of the world, there is nothing she hates more than the overall destruction of her home. Because she is naturally a very calm person, Meer will only break if she sees the entirety of her being, being destructed all at once.
