Name: Roxanne Hilda Ramirez
Age: 22
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 89 lbs
Gender: Female
Race: Gifted human
Appearance:
Delicate, almost in a sickly way. She’s always been just a tad underweight and her metabolism shows her no slack. Despite her small frame her hips are very wide and add a swing to her step, which would seem rather attractive if not for the way her hip bone juts out in very sharp angles. Everything else is rather childlike.
Roxanne keeps her chocolate brown hair very short. She doesn’t really like long hair, and short hair is just more practical. For the most part it's kept in a messy style.
Thanks to her power, her pupils have overtaken her irises and most of the whites, black as pitch. It’s rather unsettling to most people, and though Roxanne isn’t exactly thrilled with her look she knows just to keep her head down near strangers. She thinks it’s a small price to pay for such a useful gift.
Personality: More than anything, Roxanne would be described as 'feisty'. Due to her Southern upbringing she tends to be very polite when she first meets someone, but that pleasant wall falls away over time no matter if she chooses to like you or not. She speaks her mind in all situations and doesn't care if she's right or wrong--in her mind, she is always right. Her temper is incredibly short, her tongue is sharp, and when provoked she doesn't give a damn about what (lame insult) falls out of her mouth even if it causes her to get beat.
That being said, Roxanne is a dreamer. Her daydreams are not fantasy but history, and whenever she can she rescues old history books.
Because of her mother's drinking Roxanne was born small and weak, and now she is completely disgusted by alcohol anywhere in her presence. If you drink in front of her she'll cuss you out, and when you're done she'll badger you about the risk to your health. Nagging is her hobby.
Roxanne is smart, not unusually so, more book smart than anything else. Her common sense is low and she has many 'blonde moments'.
Background: Roxanne's life was a simple one. She lived mostly with her Gifted father, Jimmy Wells, while her human mother Madrigal Ramirez watched from the sidelines. Not to say that Roxanne never saw her mother. In fact, Madrigal loved Roxanne a little too much. She believed that she had given birth to a superior offspring and wanted the best for her, for her to be as powerful as she could be. And being average, Madrigal had to step aside.
Roxanne grew up in New Territory, Texas. Because of her eyes she wore sunglasses almost 24/7 and was home schooled. She met her life long (average) friend at a young age, a redheaded boy named Travis Young. Her mother got married and had two (average) sons, Luka and Ricky. And Roxanne grew up to have a normal job as a museum tour guide. However, Roxanne has a roaming spirit and a knack for getting herself caught in less than normal situations.
Roleplay Sample:
Humans. So smart and beautiful. Even with the closest bonds to them Roxanne could never truly be with them. Despite having been born from one, sharing the same womb with two, she wasn't really 'human'.
Despite that, there was a soft spot for them within her. A little girl with long brown hair pulled back with a blue bow liked to walk into the museum almost every day, sit on a bench and look at the wall of paintings without paying. At first it disturbed Roxanne how this little girl was interested in those bloody, nightmarish paintings. This was a war museum after all. But Roxanne would turn a blind eye to her, and vouch for her if anyone suspected her of trying to get in free. Over time Roxanne even gave the girl mini-guides through the museum, explaining this and that in small words.
The girl's name was Julie. She was seven and when both of her parents worked, she walked from her apartment, crossed the street, and sneaked into the museum. Roxanne found that it didn't matter that this was filled with images of war and packed with weapons--the girl just liked to learn whatever she could find.
Humans. Knowledge was their greatest asset. What amazed Roxanne was that they didn't need fangs or super strength to protect themselves. They just needed a few mathematical equations and their thumbs.
Other (Abilities, etc): The gift of 'Sight'. In short, Roxanne can see everything in any way, but not whenever she pleases just yet. Including, but not limited to: infrared, X-ray, microscope, black and white, night vision, bird's eye view, even inside people's heads--but only images, she can't hear a thing. She is always seeing, even in her sleep or in pitch dark. Sometimes she can add two sights together.
With some difficulty Roxanne can pass on her sight to others for a moment or so. It's generally used in defense (for example, to blind a foe) and is painful to both Roxanne and whoever is 'accepting' the sight. She must be touching the person receiving the sight.
