Name: Danielle Arlow
Age: 18
Height: 5'6
Weight: 124.5 lbs
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Personality: If you see the telltale Cheshire Cat style grin, you should probably run. In the opposite direction. As fast as you can. While praying she doesn't catch up. Because to put it simply, Dani is a prankster. A jokester. If your first meeting with her doesn't contain some sort of practical joke, you should thank your lucky stars. She can also take said jokes to extreme levels, especially if you bait her or anger her in any way.
But to be honest, beyond that, Danielle doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Sure, she might leave a few banana peels on the floor just to see if people actually trip on those, but she isn't the kind of person who would cause any harm bigger than perhaps a small bruise. And if she did, you could expect her to basically be drowning the poor victim with apologies, smothering them with annoying overprotective care.
Her loyalty to seemingly everyone she talks to is both one of her best strengths, and one of her biggest weaknesses. She's quick to make friends who she would go to the end of the world for. Unfortunately, they might not do the same. Dani is that exact blend of teenage invulnerability, naivety, and street smarts to know that plenty of bad people roam the streets, but to believe that none of her 'friends' are of that sort who would betray her.
Surprisingly enough for her seemingly happy-go-lucky personality, she has a fuse shorter than a mouse. The only thing that keeps her from lashing out is her self control. That mixed with her constant pranking which is quite a bit of an outlet for her. Anger isn't even the only emotion that comes quickly, nor strongly, Danielle is by nature a very emotional person. She just hides it behind a state of almost aggressive happiness and joking. A lot of joking.
Background:
Danielle grew up in a fairly standard family. Almost like a tv show, an older brother, older sister, and both parents living in the household. And it suited her just fine. They lay somewhere in the middle class range, though sometimes they teetered the poverty line. But she never really noticed, despite the fact that she had a fairly good head on her shoulders, she had never been good with financial situations. (Something that would bite her in the butt later.)
She started off school fairly shy, as a surprise to probably anybody who knew her as she existed later, which combined with the fact that she got consistently good grades, made for easy pickings. While in kindergarten the kind of teasing you would get is more along the lines of being accused of having cooties, that was somewhat traumatizing to her young mind.
This continued until junior high, when she decided that she would refuse to be that shy girl in the back of the class. She knew that she didn't want to be one of the popular, well, bitches as she saw them. No thanks, she'd rather not be the homecoming queen who was actually hated by all of her friends. So she chose to be the class clown of sorts, people liked those, right? Teachers aside, though she figured they didn't matter as long as she turned in her work, same quality.
And so she proceeded with her education, the years blurring by. Somewhere along the way she entered all advanced classes, gained a nice part time job with what she figured was a decent pay, a few friends. She basically perfectly balanced her education, social life, and job. It would have been easy, to say the least, to be jealous of her time management skills. She ended up graduating with an associate's. She neglected to actually attend college after that though, figuring that people made it by with less than her. She secured another part time job, somewhat afraid to quit the first one. Unfortunately, this was where things took a spin for the worse.
(Pause for dramatic effect)
Somehow, she earned enough money by the time she was 18 to pay for rent for a couple of months, and buy some sort of used vehicle. Obviously, neither car nor apartment was of a high quality but Danielle, quite frankly, did not care at all because it was hers. She quickly moved out, the last child to leave the nest. This wasn't exactly a good idea with two part time jobs.
Remember the whole finance issue I brushed up on earlier? Yeah, well eventually she got fired from one of the part time jobs. Then she quit the other one, in hopes of finding a full time job. Spoiler alert: she didn't. Eventually, she left the apartment before she completely ran out of money. Now she just kind of rests at motels with what money she has left, not wanting to return to home until she literally can't do it anymore. She never was one to ask for help, after all.
Roleplay Sample: ....No thanks, I'm good.
Abilities:
(When it becomes applicable, of course.)
Danielle is able to fly.
Well, more of just hover in most cases, if she doesn't plan on going out of control. When she goes over around 5 feet the amount of control she has is...erratic at best. At worst she, as well as a few buildings, should probably hope that they have proper insurance. Though very few insurance companies cover damage from flying bodies, or damage caused when your body apparently decided that it would be just wonderful to do an impression of a flying battering ram. It isn't even so much a lack of control of the power when she thinks about it, more of the fact that she's petrified by heights and panics. If she could get over that, she'd be fairly good.
Breaking Point:
Dani wouldn't take being betrayed by one who she considers to be a close friend very well. At all. The poor soul who will eventually do this should probably run and hide. Maybe if they find a nice bomb shelter they'll be safe. Until they have to come out, that is.
